Welcome! We want to ask you, what can you do with a piece of wood?

Welcome to the GMU Wood Project! We are a small group of students interested in generating ideas and creating dialog about sustainability and other environmental concerns around the GMU campus. We as a group are setting out small pieces of post consumer wood, which would otherwise be thrown away, and asking the GMU community, what can you do with this piece of wood to help create sustainable environments and promote environmental consciousness?

We want all ideas, from the simple to the abstract about how you can use this piece of wood. So let us know! Post your ideas and stories on this blog and share with others what you can do with a piece of wood.

If you want to create your own post with ideas for all to see, please send an emaila to gmuwoodproject@yahoo.com and we will add you to the contributors list. We promise not to spam.

Continuation

It's been over a year since we created this blog, and I am very much interested in continuing the work. My goal for the short term is to take the Wood Project to various cities that I can access, perhaps in the upcoming months: here in Washington DC, New York, San Francisco and maybe Paris. This project, at least in my mind, is not over but instead evolving into what will hopefully become a global project. More updates should be added soon.
